The basics
How dice games work
Most dice games are one of three ideas: push your luck (roll again or stop, like Farkle), roll for combinations (like Yahtzee) or roll for a number (like Bunco). The luck is in the dice, the choices are yours.
Equipment
What you need
Standard six-sided dice, 16 mm across, are the ones every game here uses. Most games need five or six; a set of twelve gives you spares. Our dice buying guide explains size, cups and what each game needs.
